Start with the User!

Creating a persona is very important to understand your user. I started in Adobe XD with a template and researched my personas and interviewing my target audience (pic shows one of the templates I am still working on). A great way to make this a fast process is to use the plugin called Personas. You can just download a plugin inside Adobe XD. It has 4 templates you can use to create an artboard of personas in seconds - you just have to fill in your details.
